Today, we celebrate not only our success, but also the success of the world. For when we succeed, everyone around us succeeds. Together we have made it. We thank our teachers for their hard work and dedication to ensure we got all the necessary content required. To the Principal whose inspiration and leadership propels this school to greater heights in education, we thank you. To the janitors who ensured that our halls are clean, we thank you. To the cooks in the cafes who made sure we enjoy delicious meals after a long stressful day, we thank you. To the security officers who made sure our compound is safe, thank you. You are all equally important in our journey of success.
My fellow graduates, success is a journey and let’s not be complacent for what we have achieved.  Let’s keep pressing forward. We are crossing the bridge to college and everyone will choose a course of his or her own interest. You may not know now the course you want, but keep looking. Don’t settle. As you search for your career path, remember to listen to your intuition and do what you like. It is good to seek advice, but most importantly consider your intuition on what you really want to do. The Apple Co-founder, Steve Jobs said, “Your time is limited, so don’t waste it to live someone else’s life.  Don’t be trapped by dogma, which is living with the results of other people’s thinking.” My fellow graduates, therefore, let’s define our own paths and contribute to the well-being of the society.
Let’s not have frustrated doctors, engineers and lawyers just because someone else forced them into that profession. That will be disservice, not only to oneself, but also to the society. The American motivational speaker, Brian Tracy said, “If you don’t know what to do, people will hire you to help them accomplish their goal.” Let’s be keen on what we want to do and create a future; a vision of hope, a dream of happiness.
As we celebrate success, however, it is important to note our mistakes and improve from them. Microsoft co-founder, Bill Gates, said, “It is good to celebrate success, but it is more important to heed the lessons of failure. Let us, therefore, learn from our failures and rise up strong to face the present and the future. What lies behind us should not distract us from seeing what lies before and ahead of us. In this way, we are going to make it in life, as we have made it in school. Together, we shall live the life; a vision of hope, a dream of happiness. Thank you. God bless you.
